Phuket is one of the main cities in Thailand and is renowned for its excellent party life and great location on a beautiful island. Not only are there numerous bars and clubs here – something that usually attracts a younger crowd – but there are also loads of opportunities to go diving in the crystal clear water that surrounds the island. Finding cheap flights to Phuket has never been easier, so now is the time to fly.
Phuket has a large airport that receives both domestic and international flights. Its location in the south of Thailand means that flights from Australia are much shorter in comparison to ones that fly to Bangkok – leading to cheaper air fares. A number of airlines serve the airport from Australia, including Strategic Airlines, Jetstar Airways and Pacific Blue Airlines. These all offer direct flights, meaning there are no stopovers to contend with.
Those coming from within Thailand can get a number of flights from all of the main airports in the country. The tickets are generally inexpensive and the planes are usually modern and well equipped. It is usually the local airlines that run this service, such as Bangkok Airways.
The airport is located to the north of Phuket, about 32 kilometers from the city center. There are a number of ways to get to the city, with the most popular being the regular bus service that runs every single hour. The bus also stops along the way so that passengers can disembark anywhere that they want to. Other options include a taxi, a minivan or even one of the limousine taxis that run.
