Koh Chang (also recognised as Ko Chang) is the third largest of the Thailand islands, with a number of beaches spanning its coastline. It’s too large to walk from beach to beach on the island, so you’ll need to choose your Koh Chang holidays accommodation wisely. Check out a map of the island first and determine where it is you want to be based before you make the trip.

The name Koh Chang means Elephant Island, given not because of elephant inhabitants, but due to the shape of the island’s headlands. It is a thriving metropolis of beautiful beaches, rainforests and waterfalls and as one of the largest islands in Thailand, allows for plenty of exploring and long hikes.

While a popular destination for tourists, the island still remains less developed than places such as Phuket, which is seen to be fortunate by most. Koh Chang attractions are at their best in their natural awe and beauty, so it is best that they’re left this way.

With so much to do on the island, find more information by checking out our other related pages on Koh Chang and other Thailand holidays.
