The capital of Thailand and the largest city in the south eastern portion of Asia, cheap flights to Bangkok are becoming a regular occurrence. It is the starting point for most Australian visitors to the country and has a huge amount of attractions to see while there. In fact, it could be easy to spend a whole month just wandering around this majestic city, eating the delicious food and getting to know the locals.

Most major airlines fly from Australia to Bangkok, including Qantas, Etihad and Thai Airways – all of which will land at the Suvarnabhuni Airport. This is an international airport that handles hundreds of flights per week, with all the facilities that one could need. It is also one of the newest airports in the world – a fact that is proved by the cleanliness and modernity that it exhibits.

The airport is about 15 miles to the east of Bangkok, although there are a number of different ways to get to the city. The easiest is by train, which is a high speed link that was only constructed a couple of years ago, although there is still the option to get a bus or taxi as well. The latter two options will take much longer though and will involve a lot of traffic jams.

Any visitor on their Bangkok holidays will be happy that they made the journey. With a mixture of amazing sights, fantastic people and beautiful weather, it is a great destination for all Australians this or any summer. Travel to nearby destinations such as Phi Phi Island, Chiang Mai or Koh Samui to get the true Thailand experience.
