Dive deep into a beautiful city, rich in history and experience all that Bangkok attractions have to offer. Located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, the city began about 200 years ago as a trading centre and port community and today is as modern as any major city. When visiting Bangkok, there are many attractions in the city that you must see. Here are five of the must-dos, but don’t stop there, because there’s plenty more!

Grand Palace & Wat Prakeaw

The Grand Palace was built in 1782 and was home to the Thai King and his royal court. People in love with architecture will find infinite beauty in the design and detail of the palace. The Emerald Buddha, carved in the 15th century, is housed at Phra Kaew Morakot and is highly revered as a religious artifact.

Chinatown (Yaowarat)

Filled with gold shops, Chinatown is a bustling area of the city. The best time to visit Chinatown is during one of its festivals, particularly the Vegetarian Festival and the Chinese New Year.

Bangkok Floating Market

If you aim to see something you’ve never seen before, make sure to visit the floating market. Nowhere else will you see hundreds of row boats floating on the water filled with food, flowers and cooking implements designed to cook you a meal on the spot.

The Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun)

Built in the early 19th century, the temple has spires which are visible from many areas of the city. From close by, you can see that the towers are decorated with glazed porcelain. Tourists and countrymen alike recommend visiting the temple at sunset to better witness its true beauty.

Wat Pho

What Pho is home to the College of Traditional Medicine and a very large, reclining Buddha. The temple complex was the center of public education when King Rama III ruled the land. Be sure to visit the souvenir shop before you go!

Thailand holidays are jam-packed with adventure, history, sightseeing and memories. Don’t stop at Bangkok, be sure to make the trip to other cities and islands and experience different aspects of Thai life. Phuket attractions are amongst the most recognised in the country, so why not add that to your list also.
